Collection Spotlight: Aurora

Alyssa Cole

It’s no surprise that the area rugs from Mohawk Home’s Aurora collection consistently top our best-sellers list. These styles are some of our most vibrant, modern/contemporary designs and include everything from eclectic floral prints to classic trellises, globally-inspired medallions, bold geos, and simple stripes.

Mohawk’s cutting edge printing technology allows us to create endless color ways and sharp, intricate details that aren’t as prominent in woven or tufted style rugs. Printed rugs are budget- friendly, too!

Each of the area rugs in the Aurora collection is constructed from our durable Wear-Dated fiber, making them perfect for high-traffic areas like the family room, kitchen, hallways, entry ways, and kids playrooms.

We also get a lot of praise from busy-moms and pet-owners because clean-up is a breeze after a spill or accident. Less worry over making a mess means more time can be spent doing things you enjoy!

Conveniently, the area rugs in the Aurora collection have a non-slip latex backing, but as you probably already know, we always recommend the use of a rug pad to add cushion and extend the life of a rug! 😉 You can read all about why you need a rug pad here, or go ahead and start shopping for Mohawk Home’s top-rated Dual Surface area rug pad (which can be used on hard flooring or carpet).

As with all printed styles, you will notice that these rugs have a lower pile than their woven counterparts. Pile height is typically a little over 1/3 inch, so if you’re looking for a rug that is shaggy or a bit more plush, there may be another Mohawk Home collection that is better suited to your style.
