4th of July Entertaining

Contributing Blogger

Holidays are always something that I look forward to. They are an excuse to take time away from work to relax and enjoy the company of others. They are also the perfect opportunity to throw a party, and who doesn’t enjoy a party? Unfortunately, almost everyone except the hostess because of all of the hard work that goes into throwing a party, but I believe that with the right planning, hosting a party can be painless and most importantly, fun! I’m even convinced that you can throw together a quick and simple 4th of July party by tomorrow with these simple tips and tricks.

1. Keep it simple.

All too often parties get stressful when things are too complicated. Don’t worry about creating the most extravagant cakes and decorations. Make easy recipes that can be made ahead of time and do not require much effort to serve like these fruit skewers filled with healthy blueberries and watermelon.

2. Give your guests something to do while at the party.

This can be one of the most important tips to remember when planning a good party because it is what throwing a party is all about: having fun with others! A 4th of July party will of course call for fireworks! Include sparklers as well to give the little ones at the party something to play with.

For the adults, consider making or having guests bring their own corn hole boards for a little friendly competition. We love these custom red, white and blue corn hole boards from Colorado Joe’s on Etsy.

Most importantly, when planning a good 4th of July party, or any party for that matter, remember to enjoy the party yourself! With simple and easy food and decorations, you can free yourself up to light sparklers with the kids or join in on a corn hole game with friends or just relax and celebrate freedom!
